The inspirational talk will give an overview of the complex urban challenges we are facing globally in the century of cities and will introduce smart city concepts by reflecting on case studies from Berlin, Munich, Copenhagen and Cape Town.

In conclusion, an innovative planning practice is introduced: Smart Urbanism. It is the objective of the talk to motivate a discussion around how Smart Urbanism impacts leadership, how principles in city planning can be applied in organisations as well as how businesses can contribute to connect diverse stakeholders, data and services for a more sustainable urban future.
